Pre-Design Consultation
Meet Kerry over Zoom screenshare (or in person in Auckland). Discuss your ideas, challenges, and design direction before the drawing starts.

Receive Your Draft Design
Within 7–10 days Kerry delivers your draft concept. Review it at your leisure, then discuss it with Kerry over a screenshare session.

Finalise & Implement
Kerry revises the plan based on your feedback and delivers your final PDF. Then it's over to you – DIY, contractor, or a mix of both.

About Kerry & DIY Designs
Kerry Speirs is the face, lead designer, and brains behind DIY Designs – an innovative little online landscape design company with big ideas. After graduating top of her class from Unitec's Diploma of Landscape Design in 2011, Kerry founded Twist Creative Landscape Design. Over the next decade she built a reputation for award-winning, magazine-featured gardens across Auckland and New Zealand. In 2019 she launched DIY Designs – New Zealand's first online garden design service – bringing her expertise to homeowners nationwide at a fraction of traditional design fees. Her husband Rob works behind the scenes on the business side. Together they've helped hundreds of NZ families create gardens they truly love.

How long does it take to get my garden design? +
Once we have all your project info and have had a pre-design chat, you can expect your draft design in 7–10 days. After feedback, your final plan is typically ready within a week. The overall process takes 4–6 weeks.
Do I need survey plans? +
Survey plans give the most accurate result and are a little cheaper. If you don't have them, you can self-measure your property – we'll show you how. Both options are available for most plan services.
Can I build the design myself? +
Yes – that's what DIY Designs is designed for. Most clients take a mixed approach: doing some of the work themselves and contracting out the trickier parts like decks and fencing.
Are you taking on new projects? +
Yes – we still have capacity and are excited to take on new projects. Get started by purchasing a service online and Kerry will be in touch within 24 hours.
Is the planting plan included? +
Yes – unlike many landscape designers who charge separately for a planting plan, DIY Designs includes the planting scheme in every master plan at no extra cost.
I'm not in Auckland – can you still help? +
Absolutely. DIY Designs was built specifically to serve NZ homeowners nationwide. All services except the Walk & Talk and Coach Me onsite consultations are fully online. Kerry has designed gardens from Northland to Southland.
